Szólókarrierje újabb különleges mérföldkövét mutatja be május 19-én Anneke van Giersbergen: a Heavy Strings turné keretében többek között Maiden, Sabbath és Guns klasszikusokat ad majd elő félig akusztikus, vonósnégyessel és zongorán kísért hangszerelésben. A Gathering egykori énekesnője a MOM Kult színháztermébe várja az érdeklődőket.
A holland Anneke van Giersbergen igazán színes énekesi karriert tud maga mögött. A Gathering zenekar élén vált ismertté, azóta pedig szóló énekesként tevékenykedik nagy sikerrel.
Anneke egyszer elmondta, hogy fiatal korában a bátyja ismertette meg vele a heavy metal zenét:
„Gyerekként főleg popzenét hallgattam, Barbra Streisand és Kate Bush is a kedvenceim között volt. De mindez megváltozott, amikor a bátyám, Jos megmutatta nekem rock és heavy metal kedvenceit. A himnusz-szerű dalok és az erőteljes vokálok, no meg a sötét hangulat rögtön magával ragadott, és igazi metalossá tett.”
A többi pedig már történelem. Néhány éve aztán – a Metallica 40. születésnapja alkalmából – Anneke egy vonósnégyes kíséretében adta elő a Nothing Else Matters-t. A Ruud Peeters által megszervezett felállásban olyan jól sikerült az előadás, hogy hamar megszületett az együttműködés ötlete, amiből kialakult a Heavy Strings Tour: a koncerteken Anneke félig komolyzenei hangszerelésben adja elő kedvenc heavy metal dalait, sok más sláger mellett.
A programban szerepelnek Guns N’ Roses, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden és Foreigner dalok, de persze Anneke kedvenc zenekara, a Mastodon sem marad ki. Zenész társaival Anneke teljesen új köntösbe öltözteti ezeket a klasszikusokat: az énekesnő mellett Ruud Peeters zongorán, Joanna Czaj és Eweline Peeters hegedűn, Paloma Ortas brácsán és Stanislav Degtyarev csellón játszik majd; ők négyen egyébként Magic Strings néven zenélnek együtt. Itt láthatunk egy ízelítőt.
A hollandiai fellépések után most Európát is bejárják ebben a felállásban. Budapestre május 19-én érkeznek, és a MOM Kult színháztermében játszanak majd. Jegyek korlátozott számban még kaphatók.
