Március 8-án jelent meg Kim Gordon második szólóalbuma, a "The Collective", melyet 2024. október 26-án Budapesten, a Magyar Zene Házában élőben is meghallgathat majd a magyar közönség.
Amióta a sokoldalú énekesnő és zenész a 80-as évek elején megalapította az alternatív rockzene egyik legfontosabb, legjobb együttesét, a Sonic Youth nevű kvartettet, azóta a zenei élet egyik meghatározó szereplője. Szólómunkássága, egyéb zenekari projektjei, életrajzi könyve, filmes és képzőművészeti vonatkozású munkái révén a Sonic Youth megszűnése után is az élvonalban maradt. Ezt erősíti tovább a "The Collective" című lemez is, melyet a kritikusok és a rajongók is nagyra értékelnek.
A Kim Gordon szülővárosában, Los Angelesben rögzített anyag a 2019-es "No Home Record" című debütáló albumot követi. A produceri munkálatokat ezúttal is Justin Raisen (Lil Yachty, John Cale, Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Charli XCX, Yves Tumor) és végezte, de Anthony Paul Lopez besegített a végeredményben.
Az album egyik közönségkedvenc dala, a "BYE BYE" nemrég Jimmy Kimmel ikonikus esti műsorában is megszólalt, mely egyben Kim szóló televíziós debütálása is volt. A produkciót visszanézve belekóstolhatunk a közelgő koncert hangulatába, és egyben megbizonyosodhatunk arról, hogy Kim Gordon 70 év felett is kirobbanó formában van.
