Idén már kilencedik alkalommal rendezik meg Budapesten az országos Beatles találkozót. Az esemény június 16-án lesz az óbudai Kobuci Kertben, a találkozó fővédnöke Nick Wass, akinek vezetésével idén Angliában megtalálták Paul McCartney elveszettnek hitt első basszusgitárját.
Az országos Beatles találkozó házigazdája ezúttal is a Bits, a legautentikusabb hazai Beatles tribute zenekar, amely kétszer is színpadra lép: előbb a gombafejűek idén 60 éves lemeze, A Hard Day's Night dalait adja elő élőben, majd az esemény zárásaként a Beatles-életmű legismertebb darabjait játssza el korhű hangzással.
A rendezvény vendégfellépője az Uncle Parrot Lonely Heart Club Band lesz, amely 17 órakor a programot indítja.
- Óriási megtiszteltetés, hogy idén elfogadta meghívásunkat és részvételi szándékát is jelezte Nick Wass, akinek vezetésével idén megtalálták Paul McCartney elveszett legendás első basszusgitárját, amely az első Beatles albumokon hallható. Nick sok izgalmas részletet fog megosztani a kalandos történetről és válaszol a rajongói kérdésekre is" - mondta Derecskei Zsolt, az országos Beatles találkozó főszervezője, a Bits tagja.
Az ex-Beatle Höfner basszusgitárját egy furgonból lopták el 1972-ben, a hangszerre több mint ötven ével később egy sussex-i ház padlásán akadtak rá a hangszer megtalálására Lost Bass néven szerveződött projekt munkatársai. A basszusgitárt McCartney még a Beatles világhírűvé válása előtt, 1961-ben vásárolta Hamburgban, ahol a csapat hónapokon át különböző éjszakai klubokban zenélt. A hangszer végig kísérte pályafutását a Beatles-ben, olyan daloknál használta, mint például a Love Me Do vagy a She Loves You.
Mint utóbb kiderült, a Höfner 500-ast a tettesek annak idején eladták egy pub bérlőjének, a hangszer ezután került Sussex-be, ahol évtizedeken át pihent egy családi ház padlásán. A hangszer ma többet ér, mint az eddigi rekordösszeg, amelyet árverésen hangszerért fizettek: ez Kurt Cobain gitárja volt, amelyért 2020-ban 6 millió dollárt fizettek. A június 16-i országos Beatles találkozón a Kobuci Kertben lesz dalkitalálós kvízjáték is, a győztesek értékes ajándékkal gazdagodnak.
