A posztpunk egyik legmeghatározóbb és leginnovatívabb zenekara, John Lydon Public Image Ltd-je (PiL) 2026 tavaszán Budapestre érkezik.
A kultikus együttes május 20-án ad koncertet a Dürer Kertben, 15 évvel első magyarországi koncertje után, a hatalmas sikerrel futó This Is Not The Last Tour nevet viselő körút részeként.
A koncert igazi zenei mérföldkőnek ígérkezik
John Lydon, - vagy ahogy a világ leginkább ismeri Johnny Rotten - a Sex Pistols frontembereként írt zenetörténelmet, majd a PiL élén újradefiniálta a posztpunk műfaját. A banda több mint négy évtizedes fennállása alatt öt Top 20 kislemezt és öt Top 20 albumot jegyzett az Egyesült Királyságban, egyedi hangzásuk a rockot, a dance-t, a folkot, a popot és a dubot ötvözi, ami több generációra volt hatással, zenészek ezreit inspirálta.
Az 1978-ban alakult formáció 1992-ben hosszabb szünetre vonult, majd 2009-ben megújult lendülettel tért vissza, és ismét sorra szállította a dalokat. Újjáalakulásuk óta három nagy kritikai sikert arató albumot jelentettek meg: This is PiL (2012), What The World Needs Now… (2015) és a legfrissebb, 2023-as End of World, amely tovább színesíti Lydon széles diszkográfiáját, a PiL életművet pedig immár 11 lemezesre bővíti.
John Lydon 2023-ban elveszítette feleségét Norát, valamint menedzserét és barátját John Rambo Stevenst, ezután sokáig úgy gondolta, hogy a turnézás számára véget ért, nem szeretne többet színpadra állni.
A közönség szeretete azonban szerencsére meggyőzte
Hiba volna abbahagyni. Nem maradtak így el a koncertek és a frontember bevallása szerint a mostani turnén a Public Image Ltd maximális fordulatszámon pörög, és miután a nyár folyamán a zenekar történetének legjobb koncertjeit adták, „nagyon várják, hogy mindenki Rotten karácsonyt és új évet kapjon tőlük ajándékba.”
A most bejelentett budapesti koncert ritka lehetőség a hazai közönség számáraa
Kivételes alkalom arra, hogy a magyarországi rajongók élőben lássák a legendás brit csapatot, amely eddig mindössze egyszer, 2010-ben járt Budapesten. Majd ötvenéves pályafutások során így másodjára lesz lehetősége a hazai közönségnek a világ egyik legismertebb punk legendájának energiáját élőben is megtapasztalni május 20-án, a Dürer Kertben. A punk ünnepre a jegyértékesítés december 3-án, 11 órakor indul.
