Tricky az elmúlt évtizedek egyik leginkább innovatív és igen befolyásos művésze, a trip-hop műfaj egyik úttörője, aki sötét élményeit oltja muzsikájába. Tricky 2026-ban ismét visszatér a színpadra újonnan megalkotott show-jával, amelyet Budapestre is elhoz június 9-én, az A38 Hajóra.
Tricky, azaz Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws Bristolban született és nőtt fel. Nehéz gyerekkorából végül a zene jelentette a menekülést: először a Wild Bunch-ban kezdte,
ebből nőtt ki később a Massive Attack, melynek első lemezén Tricky is otthagyta kéznyomát.
A zenekarból hamarosan kivált és szólókarrierbe kezdett, 1995-ben kiadva debütáló albumát.
Tricky a kezdetektől a bristoli underground szcéna egyik meghatározó alakja volt, a trip-hop zenei műfaj egyik úttörője.
Dalait múltja miatt egyfajta sötét atmoszféra lengi be. Tricky mindeddig 14 nagylemezt jelentett meg, a legutóbbit 2020-ban Fall To Pieces címmel. Karrierje során olyan művészekkel alkotott együtt, mint Terry Hall, Björk, Gravediggaz, Alanis Morissette, Grace Jones és PJ Harvey.
Művészi tehetsége vitathatlan, maga David Bowie is a rajongói közé tartozott, aki Tricky egyedi látásmódját és félelem nélküli kreativitását dicsérte.
Jövő évi turnéjára repertoárjának merész újragondolását ígéri, az izgalmas utazásra pedig mi is vele tarthatunk június 9-én az A38 Hajón.
