From there I got away, me spirits never falling,
Landed on the quay, just as the ship was sailing.
The Captain at me roared, said that no room had he;

When off Holyhead wished meself was dead,

Well the bouys of Liverpool, when we safely landed,
Called meself a fool, I could no longer stand it.
Blood began to boil, temper I was losing;
Poor old Erin's Isle they began abusing.
"Hurrah me soul" says I, me Shillelagh I let fly.
Some Galway boys were nigh and saw I was a hobble in,
With a load "hurray !" joined in the affray.
We quitely cleared the way for the rocky road to Dublin.

Több mint 500, a létminimum alatt élő magyar előadóművész megélhetéséhez nyújtott segítséget az Előadóművészi Jogvédő Iroda 2025 első felében.
Havi nyugdíj-kiegészítő támogatást 267 olyan elismert előadóművész kapott, akik alacsony nyugdíjuk mellé semmilyen más juttatásban nem részesülnek, 166 rászorult pedig egyszeri segélyhez jutott. Az átlagos támogatási összeg 130 ezer forint volt.
Idős korukban a rangos előadóművészek különböző művészeti ágakban eltérő mértékben kerülhetnek nehéz anyagi helyzetbe. Ebből a szempontból talán a könnyűzene világa a legmostohább, ahol egyik pillanatról a másikra el lehet veszíteni a népszerűséget és azzal együtt a jövedelem nagy részét.
A könnyűzenészek körében a mai napig nehéz elültetni az időskori öngondoskodásra való felkészülés gondolatát.
Akik aktív életük során nem kaptak magas állami, szakmai kitüntetést, előfordul, hogy nehéz öregkornak néznek elébe. Rajtuk segít az EJI azzal, hogy a szolidaritás jegyében egyszeri támogatást, vagy rendszeresen nyugdíj-kiegészítést nyújtanak számukra.
A juttatás fedezetét a jogdíjak révén maguk a művészek termelik meg. A támogatásért bármely előadóművész folyamodhat, aki megfelel a feltételeknek.
Az összegről a kérelem alapján a Jogdíjbizottságok javaslatára az EJI elnöksége dönt
A nyugdíj-kiegészítés havi összegét az EJI a mindenkori legkisebb öregségi nyugdíj 35-200 százalékában, különös méltánylást igénylő esetben legfeljebb annak 300 százalékában határozta meg.
A létminimum alatt élő művészek állami nyugdíját akár meg is duplázhatja ez a kiegészítő járadék.
