Év elején egy hatalmas hír rengette meg a világsajtót: megtalálták Paul McCartney 50 éve elveszett basszusgitárját. A lehetetlen küldetés 2019-ben kezdődött és csaknem 5 év kellett, hogy - minden bizonnyal - a világ jelenleg legértékesebb hangszerét megtalálják a kutatók.
Csak sejteni lehetett, hogy hol és mikor tűnt el a hangszer, és honnan kellene indulni, de a keresés azt is kiderítette, hogy a közhiedelemmel ellentétben nem 1969-ben (a mostanában hivatalosan megjelent Let It Be című film készülésének idejében), hanem
1972-ben veszett nyoma a legendás hangszernek.
"A keresést 2019-ben Nick Wass kezdeményezte, a német Höfner gitárgyár (a legendás hegedűbasszus gyártója) akkori marketingigazgatója. A kereséshez először a baráti szálakat is mozgósították, így mi a The Bits-szel is belecsöppentünk a keresésbe és közvetíthettük a felhívásokat a magyar Beatles, Paul McCartney rajongók, hangszergyűjtők felé és nagyon örülünk, hogy - ha kicsit is, de - segíteni tudtunk abban, hogy a hangszer ma már újra Paul birtokában van. Nagyon izgatottak vagyunk, mert Nick elfogadta a meghívásunkat és június 16-án élőben kérdezhetünk tőle a színpadon és megadjuk a lehetőséget, hogy mindenki feltehessen kérdést a közönség soraiból. Remélhetőleg néhány eddig nem hallott és olvasott részletre is fény derül majd." - Derecskei Zsolt, főszervező.
A keresés vezetője, Nick Wass Budapesten jár és június 16-án, az Országos Beatles találkozón lehet első kézből hallani tőle a keresésről és a hangszer felbukkanásáról, valamint arról is, hogy hogyan, milyen módszerekkel sikerült azonosítani a megkerült hangszert, milyen állapotban volt a megtaláláskor és mi lesz vele.
