Július 4-én ismét saját dalait állítja középpontba Richie Kotzen a Dürer Kert színpadán. A több mint három évtizedes pályafutást maga mögött tudó gitárzseni a Poison, a Mr Big és a Winery Dogs mellett számtalan szólóalbumot adott ki, és ezúttal is a készülő friss lemezből hoz majd ízelítőt.
Bár csak nemrég ért vissza egy 95 (!)-állomásos turnéról a Winery Dogs-zal, Richie Kotzen máris elkészült egy új kislemezzel: a Cheap Shots című dalt május 1-én tette közzé, a napokban pedig a hivatalos videó is megjelent hozzá. Egy igazán lendületes, gitárfókuszú dal született, amit Kotzen összetéveszthetetlen éneke tesz különlegessé… és a klipben a dobok mögött is ő ül.
„Sosem tudom előre, hogy éppen hogyan, mikor csap belém az a kreatív erő, ami egy új dal ötletét inspirálja. Sosem próbálom erőltetni ezt a folyamatot, mert tudom, hogy az élet előbb-utóbb mindig létrehoz egy olyan helyzetet, ahol ez a bizonyos kreatív szikra kipattan.
Emellett az sem jellemző rám, hogy nyíltan szembemennék azokkal, akik szerintem ártanak nekem, hanem ehelyett a kreatív energiáimat vetem be ilyenkor, és dalszerzőként kiírom magamból a kellemetlen érzéseket, így nem örlődöm tovább. Szóval, ha valaki rendszeresen keresztbe tesz neked, akkor ott kell hagyni, amúgy végső soron te leszel saját magad legnagyobb ellensége. Segíteni próbáltam és most én vagyok a célpont? Kösz nem… inkább kiszállok. Az én elvem ilyenkor az, hogy ki vele, hajítsuk a szemetet oda, ahová való. Lépj tovább és felejtsd el őket! Erről szól ez az új dal.”
Kotzen pályájáról
Kotzen pályafutása a ’80-as évek végén indult, amikor fiatal gitártehetségként szerződtette a Shrapnel Records. Azóta szólókarrierje mellett számos neves zenekarban is hírnévre tett szert: a Poison, a Mr. Big és a Winery Dogs tagjaként is ismert. A több mint 20 szólóalbum mellett az egyik friss produkciója az Iron Maiden gitárosával, Adam Smith-szel jött létre: a Smith/Kotzen duó ’21-ben adott ki albumot.
A most kiadott dal egy teljes nagylemez hírnöke, ami az év második felében jelenik majd meg. Richie ezzel párhuzamosan az új turnédátumokat is betervezte már: nyáron Európában, ősszel pedig az Egyesült Államokban játszik. Budapestre július 4-én tér vissza, a Dürer Kertben játszik majd.
