There were passengers from Limerick and passengers from Nenagh
The boys of Connemara and the flair of married Ladies
There were people from Cork City who were loyal true and faithful
Who brought home the Fenian prisoners from dying in foreign nations
It's there you'll see the pipers and the fiddlers competing
The nimble footed dancers a-tripping o’er the daisies
There were others crying cigars and lights and bills for all the races
Colours of the jockeys and the prize and horses' ages.
It's there you'll see the jockeys and they're mounted out so stately
The pink, the blue, the orange and green, the emblem of our nation
When the bell was rung for starting, all the horses seemed impatient
I thought they never stood on ground their speed was so amazing.
There was half a million people there from all denominations
The Catholic, the Protestant, the Jew, and Presbyterian
There was yet no animosity, no matter what persuasion
But sportsman's hospitality and induce of fresh acquaintance.
A siófoki szezont egy pünkösd hétvégi nagy, ingyenes családi esemény nyitja a Nagystrandon és a koncert- és bulisorozat is beindul a Plázson.
A szezonnyitó ingyenes koncertjeit követően hétvégén a hazai DJ-k hosszú sorát felvonultató Grand Opening és szezonnyitó Fergeteg Party várja a nagyközönséget, sőt az idei első Plázs partyhajó is vízre száll.
Siófok pünkösdi szezonnyitóján, május 17. és 20. között megtelik élettel a Siófoki Nagystrand, színes családi programokkal, légi bemutatóval, óriás akadálypályával, balatoni borokkal és gasztrovásárral várják az érdeklődőket. A szezonnyitó programját esténként ingyenes nagykoncertek teszik majd teljessé: a Plázs nagyszínpadán fellép a Blahalouisiana, a Hooligans és a TNT.
A koncerteket követően Plázs beindítja a szezon végéig tartó bulifolyamot is
Szombaton kezdésképp kifut majd a BAHART és Plázs idei első partyhajója, a fedélzetén Koósz Milánnal, Metzker Viktóriával, Pumped Gaboval és Stephanieval. A naplementéből az estébe áthajózó Boat Party kikötése után pedig a Plázs több helyszínén indul be a már hagyománynak számító Grand Opening. Az Arénában tucatnyi fellépő táncoltatja meg a közönséget, többek között Bárány Attila, Bruno x Spacc, KKevin, Yamina, Bréda Bia és a hajóról szintén ide érkező Koósz Milán és Metzker Viktória is feltűnik a színpadon. A Plázs Clubban Chrstphr, Gabriel Dancer, R92 állnak majd a pultban és a Beach stage-n dübörögnek majd Jauri, Katapult Dj, Sterbinszky x Mynea, Szecsei, Pumped Gabo és Willcox szettjei. Vasárnap pedig a Fergeteg Party is beindítja a szezont, a TNT koncert után Dj Dominique és Csordás Tibi veszi be a placcot, hogy végérvényesen elinduljon a Plázs szezon.
